THE HOUSE AND GARDEN

The Antica Frateria is an old country house, originating from the late middle ages.

The name was chosen to record the presence of a small religious community who followed agricultural activities here when the farm was the property of a Convent situated in the town.

The house has been carefully and accurately restored to a high standard, with particular regard to the original building and materials, the use of antique furniture further enhances the atmosphere.

This is truly a family run business with traditional home cooking which is at the heart of our hospitality at Poggio al Piano.

The main house has five double rooms with baths, all furnished with lovely antiques.

On the ground floor there is a large dining room with a traditional fireplace.

In addition there is an annexe which houses three double and a single room, again all with baths.

There are also two apartments which each have six beds.

Antica Frateria is situated in a particularly tranquil location, enjoying panoramic views of the beautiful open countryside, making our agriturismo unique in it’s ability to embrace and calm the spirit.

The farmland surrounding the house has an olive grove down towards the swimming pool with views of the towers of the historic centre of Città della Pieve.

There is also an orchard with gentle hills and Lake Trasimeno as a backdrop.

We have a number of ‘house rules’ which we ask everyone to respect to ensure everyone has a wonderful holiday whilst with us.

Please respect the animals, other people and the house and lands.

There is a no smoking policy within the buildings, especially in the bedrooms.

If you wish to smoke, please do so outside and ask for an ashtray to prevent cigarette ends being thrown on the ground.

Please respect mealtimes, breakfast from 08.00 to 09.00am and dinner at20.00 (8pm).

If you wish to have dinner, please book at breakfast time.

Please ask your children to respect the other guests as it is unpleasant for us to have to do so.

Rooms are cleaned every two days and bed linen changed every week.
